A Word from the President

Will we still be freinds?
Have you noticed how cycling brings people together.
The only other activity that I have seen bring together a
diversity of people to the extent that cycling does is
a lifestyle would not recommend.
I grew up in a party house. My parents were in there
teens when I was born and by the time I was old
enough to watch my younger sister my parents were
out at the Discos... yes that's what they were called...
3 nights a week. Our house was always the meeting
place where the night would start. My Dad would make
two pots of Spaghetti to feed everyone so that they
could eat and "get ready" for the night. Getting ready
consisted of a worm poison from Mexico and some
special tobacco grown in Humboldt County. My sister
and I had to be careful not to eat the wrong batch of
spaghetti as one had special mushrooms just
for the
adults. These spaghetti feeds were popular with-in
this group of very... assorted people.

By Mike Trowbridge
Hi All... The hot days of summer are here! Those of us
who did the Circuit Race know just what that means
for cyclists. As some of you know I have a bad history
of cramping. And I'm sure that there are a lot of riders
with the same problem. In my search on what causes
cramping, how to deal with them and how to avoid
them altogether I came across this very interesting
article. It's from the "The Science of Sport" (which is
Scientific Comment and Analysis of Sports and
Sporting Performance). It's a pretty long article so I
decide to break it into several parts. So below is part
1... and if anyone has any comments OR suggestions
please send them to me OR even better send them to
whole group. It would/will be very interesting to see
what others are doing to cope with this problem.

Messilla Valley Circuit Race
|
|
Hi Everyone! So, after much discussion and feedback,
we've finally decided on a date for Chico Corsa
Cycling Club's June Messilla Valley Circuit Race. And
the winner is...two dates!!
Saturday, June 14th and Saturday, June 21st
Chico Corsa will be having back-to-back weekends of
the Messilla Valley race for June - so if you can't make
one, come out to the other...or, if you're really into pain,
do both!!
One big change this time around will be the time -
Registration will open at 8:00AM with the "A" Category
race going off at 8:30AM, and the "B" Category going at
8:31AM. However, the laps will remain the same - 10
laps for each race(sorry - I know, I'm the devil).
