Dear Geno,
The times a changing. My favorite time of the year...
daylight savings time. More light=more riding and the
highlight of my week, the Fast 50. This issue is filled
with excitement and anticipation for the great cycling
season ahead. Please enjoy the March 2008 edition
of Chico Cycling.
This newsletter is a gift from the Chico Corsa Cycling
Club. Our hope is that we inspire you to help Chico
become a better cycling town than it already is. If you
love cycling and would like to improve your
speed or endurance or you want to race or
just see racing back in Chico, join us at one of our
monthly club meetings and meet others with
interests like yours.

A Word from the President

Congeniality
Every Saturday and Sunday morning and soon every
Wednesday at 6:00 you can find a gold mine at One
Mile. There you will be among all of the different
personality types. There you will meet teenagers,
sineor citizens and every generation group in
between. Income levels will range from that of a
starving student to deep into the 6 digit category. You
will find great people and you will find some of your
future best friends, unless we scare them off.
For all of us that have been regulars at the weekend
club rides or the Fast 50 it is a great time for us to...

Coaches Desk

By Mike Trowbridge
Hi All Coach Mike here... As you all probably know
I'm recovering from a pretty bad crash on the bike
where I broke 4 ribs plus a bunch of road rash and
miscellaneous bruises. As I was lying around I had
some time to think about my recovery - how to best
speed the process up and how to start riding/training
again. The second part was easy enough to figure
out. However, the first part was a little tougher. So I
read a few articles and talked with my wife
Janine. She is a Certified Massage Therapist who
focuses on sports and injury rehab, and she highly
recommends getting regular massages. With her
help I'm on the road to a speedy recovery.
I put together the following article to give you the
benefit of my research. Therapeutic massage is not
just for injury rehab. Pro teams have...

Tour de Ed

Let's Support Ed
The first annual Tour de Ed in on it's way. But before I
tell you about the ride, I want to stop and thank
EVERYONE that has helped, or shown support, or
asked what they can do to help Ed. I shouldn't be
amazed at how much support Ed has received from
the community, but nevertheless, I'm amazed. Thank
you everyone for your help.
Okay, you came here to learn about the ride. The ride
is the old Almond Blossom ride and takes you on a
pleasant 20 or so mile ride on quiet country roads
through the almond orchards when the trees are in full
bloom.

Chico Corsa Race Team

Early Results in the Early Season
Not a bad first month of racing for Corsa! Look at that
CAT.5 squad, we are loaded and should win many
races until they upgrade. The CAT.3's are doing well,
2 races with 1 win and 1 podium. The CAT.4's should
do well with Colby and Tyson leading the sprints. We
even have a women's result in Morgan Bonar top 10 at
the Early bird Crit. We need to build up that women's
squad and get some more results! Good Job, Corsa!
