Dear Geno,
September is going to be a big month in Chico. It has
been more then a decade since Chicoians have seen
racers screaming through the downtown streets. The
success of this event is dependant on all of us that
want to see it succeed. Please click here to volunteer.
Chico will love you for it.
This newsletter is a gift from the Chico Corsa Cycling
Club. Our hope is that we inspire you to help Chico
become a better cycling town then it already is. If you
love cycling and would like to improve your
speed or endurance or you want to race or
just see racing back in Chico, join us at one of our
monthly club meetings and meet others with
interests like yours.
Chico Corsa members have an advantage...Click here to

A Word from the President
|
|
I'm at a loss for words.
About a day after I send out a newsletter, I start
thinking of what to write in the next one. It is never
decided until I actually start typing. This month has
been difficult. We are just a month away from putting
on a race, and I
can't get the loss of a friend out of my head.

Tree Attacks Cyclist in Bidwell Park
|
|
Helmet Saves Life
During a stroll through the park heading toward the
start of the fast 50 on Wednesday the 22nd, Ben
Bryant was struck by a fallen tree branch from a giant
oak tree.
Ben suffered a broken nose,
needed some stitches in his lip and his arms are
severely bruised. Other then that he is fine. His bike
was not so lucky.
The branch fell striking
him in the head then falling on his arms then through
both the top and down tubes of his carbon frame.
Chico Corsa wants to start a collection of donations to
help this starving student replace his year old bike. If
you would like to send in a donation, please send it
to Ben Bryant C/O Chico Corsa Cycling
