Clothing
Pre-Orders
I was
not sure if this newsletter was going to be a hit or be thought of a SPAM.
So far, it has been a hit...or at least with everyone who gave feedback.
So I am excited to keep this up.
CLOTHING PRE ORDERS We are getting ready to place the clothing order for next year. Sorry I do not have a picture of the kits yet, but they are going to be great. Our sponsors are; Tri Counties Bank, Gallagher's Heating & Air, Fit One Athletic Club, Modern Builders and Loadstar Olive Oil. We will buy some extra jerseys and shorts but vests, bibs, knickers and the like will only be available via a pre-order. Please be sure to contact Geno or Rodney if you intend on purchasing club clothing. One objective of this newsletter is to keep a chronological list of up coming Chico cycling events. I seek all the info I can, but your help is encouraged in bringing our cycling community up to date with all the group rides, cycling/cyclist news and events as we can.

Do you know this
guy?
In my
cry for help in the last newsletter I was heared by a volenteer. You may
know this guy, he volenteers a lot. His contributions to Chico cycling are
many. If someone is putting on a time trial, he is there to help. He keeps
time at the Forest Ranch TT, the Jack & Jill TT and the Cohasset Down
Hill as well as the Chico Corsa events. He is also the treasurer of Chico
Corsa.
His name is Rodney Cox. He is a local who is the biggest cycling nut I have ever met. Rodney is the kind of guy that when you meet him you love him. So the next time you see him, be sure to thank him and if you have not met him, you really should.

| Special Guest- 1972
Olympian, Jim Mensching
Jim
Mensching was on our 1972 Olympic Cycling team. We remember those games
for the terrorist attacks, he remembers them as bitter sweet. Jim will be
showing us video and telling stories of the early days of cycling. Don't
miss him, this is going to be a special treat.
Join us on September 8th at 6:00 pm at the Mountain Mikes Pizza on Mangroove. I will be buying the pizza but I appreciate and will accept any donations towards the pizza fund.

Cohasset Hill
Climb
The
Cohasset Down Hill TT had a great turn out and it was a lot of fun. A
special Thanks to Ed, Rodney and Lori for holding this Chico
Velo event. But now that it's over, it's time again to go the other
direction.
The last Cohasset Time Trial started in the rain and finised in the snow. Check out the photos on the web site ChicoCorsa.com This September 10th join us for our late season attempt at the 5 miles from Nicalog Rd. to the Cohasset store.

| 100 Miles in Two
Days
WHAT A
GREAT RIDE THIS IS. CHICO VELO WILL CARRY ALL OF YOUR STUFF AND YOU GET TO
CRUISE ON SOME OF THE quietest and most scenic roads in the state. You
will be riding through the lush, green Eel River Valley; meandering roads
that weave their way through groves of majestic redwoods trees; a ride
along the beaches of Cape Mendocino; and along the crest of Rainbow Ridge,
which has some of the best views anywhere.
